COMPARE holds Kickoff Meeting in Copenhagen
From 11-12 March 2015, the COMPARE project held its kick-off meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark. More than 80 participants from all 29 partner organisations attended the two-day event.
In addition to partner organizations, Birgit van Tongelen and Emanuele Volpi represented the European Commission.
As Coordinator of the project, Frank M. Aarestrup presented the project in general and Marion Koopmans, as Co-coordinator, presented the expectations for the coming years of collaborations and cooperation. The workpackage leaders presented an overview of the tasks and goals.
Outside of the plenum sessions, the workpackages met individually and in strategic groupings to further the understanding of goals and objectives as well as assigning the next steps to further progress and coordinate work between the workpackages.
During these meetings, important decisions were concluded regarding pilot project targets and the sequencing data to be shared. Further work associated with the pilot project includes identifying a clinical organism/problem and identifying a target with potential applications cutting across domains and sectors.
