DTU is the largest technical university in Denmark with more than 5,000 employees and organized in 19 institutes and 9 centers. Two different research groups are involved in this proposal; from DTU Food and Center for Biological Sequence Analysis (CBS). DTU Food employs 420 people working in six departments and focuses on public health in relation to human nutrition, food safety and environment. Activities include all aspects of foods and the food chain, from primary agricultural production to human health impacts and includes research, scientifically based risk assessments and advisory services to Danish and international authorities and industry. The Institute is part of the national food safety contingency plan and national reference laboratory for microbial food safety. DTU Food also serves as an international reference laboratory for the EU, WHO (World Health Organisation) and EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) in a number of areas. The Genomic Microbiology and Antimicrobial resistance Unit is reference laboratory for EU and WHO on AMR. CBS is one of the largest bioinformatics groups in academia in Europe. The group of +90 scientists, working in ten specialists research groups, with a highly multi-disciplinary profile. Unlike many other groups in the field of biomolecular informatics, CBS directs its research primarily towards topics related to the elucidation of the functional aspects of complex biological mechanisms. CBS has the largest shared memory supercomputer in Northern Europe and have produced a large number of computational methods, which are offered to others via WWW servers, which has more than 1 million visitors per month (http://www.cbs.dtu.dk/services/).
